- Why I chose my major
I have always had a natural curiosity as to what drives human behavior, which is what initially drew me to HDFS. I love understanding why individuals are the way they are, and because HDFS is an interdisciplinary study and pulls research from several different areas, I think it provides more meaningful and accurate insights. I was torn between majoring in psychology or sociology, and when I learned that HDFS blends these two areas as well as biology and education, I immediately knew I would enjoy it. I was sold after my first intro lifespan class.
- What I like most about FACS
The people. I wholeheartedly believe this college and community is composed of some of UGA’s best and brightest when it comes to both the students and faculty. The people I have surrounded myself with here are some of the most genuine, compassionate individuals I have ever come across, and they truly inspire me to do better and be better every day. An individual is a reflection of those they surround themselves with, so being able to have surrounded myself with FACS faculty, staff, and students while studying at UGA has been an incredible, life-changing opportunity and experience.
- Post-graduation plans
Starting in the fall, I will be working with middle school students as an English Language Assistant in Madrid, Spain for a year. Prior to my departure I will be applying to law school with the intention of starting in the fall of 2027. I hope to one day use my HDFS and Child Life lens in conjunction with a JD degree to represent children caught up in the legal system.
