Why I chose my major

I originally chose my major because it was revealed as an opportunity that no other schools in my state had to offer. I loved the way that Social Entrepreneurship could bridge my passion I had for helping others and the world around me with my entrepreneurial and business-driven spirit at the same time. I knew that majoring in Social Entrepreneurship would allow me to feel fulfilled in my studies while also cognitively challenging.

What I like most about FACS

What I have loved most about FACS is how the students and the faculty are all committed and passionate about influencing the world in a positive manner. I am encouraged to guide my studies in a more meaningful direction as each individual I talk to in my classes has a genuine desire to implement change beyond the classroom. I also really value the investment the professors have made in my growth. If it were not for professors like Dee Warmath, who took interest in my academic goals and shared her time with me, I would not be on the path I am on. There have been numerous afternoons where I have walked out of the classroom or a meeting with a smile on my face because I am leaving feeling inspired, valued, and more curious than when I arrived, and that is a testament to the faculty who teach out of an authentic place of passion.

Post-graduation plans

I will continue my studies this fall in pursuit of a doctoral degree through the Department of Financial Planning, Housing and Consumer Economics with Dee Warmath, further diving into studies in well-being.
