Why I chose my major

For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted a career in fashion. While researching possible majors in my senior year of high school, I came across UGA’s Fashion Merchandising program and was ecstatic because I never even knew such a major existed. Since starting, I have never questioned my decision for a moment. My coursework has offered a balance of both creativity and business insight that has thoroughly prepared me for a future inthis industry.

What I like most about FACS

My favorite thing about FACS, and something I think any student/faculty member here can attest to, is how close-knit it is. It may seem cliché, but FACS really feels like a family. We may not have a big, fancy building with a café, but we have staff who are personable and truly care about each of their students. We also have an amazing network of alumni who are always willing to offer advice and assistance. I am so grateful for all the support and encouragement I’ve received during my time here.

Post-graduation plans

After graduation, I plan to pursue a career in fashion marketing near my hometown to gain additional industry experience. In the long term, however, I intend to secure a job in the northeast or abroad in order to broaden my professional horizons and gain a more comprehensive perspective on the fashion industry.
