Activities/Honors

During my time on campus, I achieved many successes, both academically and professionally. Coming into my first year at UGA, I received the Classic Scholars Academic Scholarship and have maintained a GPA high enough to retain this scholarship for my entire college career. I have also been recognized by UGA multiple times as part of Dean’s List, as well as receiving the recognition as a Presidential Scholar for the fall semester of my senior year. I was also a recipient of the Jan M. Hathcote Family and Consumer Sciences Scholarship that allowed me to study abroad in Cortona, Italy for the Fall 2024 semester. I will be graduating Cum Laude from the university. With all of these academic successes it has allowed me to have professional success as well. I had the pleasure of working for a bridal boutique in their alterations department for almost two years. I also was given the opportunity to work in the Atlanta Apparel Market multiple times as a wholesale apparel intern, with a position in a permanent showroom. Lastly, I have had multiple job, and internship offers in my senior year for post-graduate life, finally deciding on one company that operates in the luxury realm of fashion and beauty. I am so grateful for every opportunity and award I have received during my time at university, and I could not have done it without the help of FACS.

Why I chose my major

Before I came to college, I knew that I wanted to study fashion. I have always loved fashion history, and the ways fashion offers individuals the ability to express themselves in their own, unique ways. UGA offered a program that allowed me to take multiple avenues within fashion including brand management, design, history and more. As soon as I got to UGA and took my first fashion merchandising class, I knew I had made the right decision, and I never looked back. Throughout my four years, this major has given me some of the best opportunities and memories possible. From getting many connections within the industry, to studying abroad in Italy with a focus in Italian fashion and history. The UGA fashion merchandising program is an amazing experience, and I am so glad that I chose to be a part of it.

What I like most about FACS

Without a doubt the best part of this school is the professors and the community that it has allowed me to form. Every single professor I have had the pleasure of learning from has not only taught me how to be an amazing fashion student and professional, but also how to go through life with conviction and integrity. The professors create a safe and welcoming learning environment, which in turn has allowed me to form a strong community with my peers.

Post-graduation plans

I will be moving to Los Angeles for an internship opportunity with GOOP working as a merchandise planner and buyer for their fashion, jewelry, and accessories line.
