Why I chose my major

I chose to pursue a career in dietetics to provide a bridge between traditional healthcare and community needs. It is my goal to use my education to address health disparities and provide diet-related chronic disease management for underserved populations. The UGA Dietetics program offered an excellent network of public health professionals and community aid programs, including UGA Extension, while providing strong clinical foundation coursework to best prepare me for my career goals.

What I like most about FACS

FACS has a genuinely welcoming and supportive atmosphere. Each staff member is determined to help students reach their full potential and is quick to connect you with like-minded professionals in the field. The college is determined to build up its students to become impactful and successful leaders and provided me with numerous connections with Registered Dietitians who have allowed me to construct my dream dietetic internship after graduation.

Post-graduation plans

I plan to complete my M.S. in Community Nutrition online through the University of Georgia concurrently with my dietetic internship. I will be interning under registered dietitians at Emory St. Joseph’s Hospital, Children’s Arthur M. Blank Hospital, Grady Hospital, the UGA Football Team, and Open Hands Atlanta. After finishing these academic programs in August, I will sit for my certification exam in September.
