Why I chose my major

I have always been interested in fashion, and after a pivotal internship in high school, I knew I wanted to pursue it as a career. I chose to major in Fashion Merchandising because of the duality and versatility of this field of study. I have been able to tap into both my creative and analytical sides throughout my four years. I have loved how this major has challenged me to use critical thinking skills when working and studying in the ever-changing fashion industry.

What I like most about FACS

My favorite part about FACS is the strong sense of community within this college. I love that when I walk down the halls, I know my fellow students, and that teachers know us by name. The FACS teachers help to foster a strong sense of belonging in FACS, both inside and outside of the classroom. When choosing which university to attend, I was always told, “You can make a big school feel smaller, but you can’t make a small school feel larger." I have found this to be especially true at UGA. When you attend a university as large as UGA, it is important to find your niche. By choosing to be a part of FACS, I was able to hone in on the personal nature of college. I feel so lucky to have found a place that empowers my passions and supports me every step of the way!

Post-graduation plans

Following graduation, I will be moving to New York City to work as an assistant buyer at Burlington Stores!
