- Why I chose my major
I have always been interested in cooking and baking. Some of my earliest memories are making Christmas cookies in the kitchen with my mom, and those moments sparked a lifelong passion for food. When I took the food, nutrition, and wellness pathway at my high school, I became fascinated with the science behind what we eat and recipe formation. My teacher, who recognized my enthusiasm and curiosity, introduced me to the Culinary Science program at UGA, and I knew it was the perfect fit for me. The unique combination of culinary arts and food science here at UGA offers the ideal opportunity to turn my passion into a career. I’m excited to continue exploring the world of food in a deeper way!
- What I like most about FACS
The friends I've made and the community! Throughout my undergrad, specifically the past two years as my classes have become more niche, I've built amazing friendships and connections with my classmates in FACS. The environment is nothing but supportive, and I’m constantly inspired by the collaborative spirit that defines the program. I feel like I’m part of a family, and I’m so grateful to have found such strong, lasting relationships within FACS that I know will extend well beyond graduation.
- Post-graduation plans
To pursue a career in the product development or sensory evaluation field of culinary science, utilizing the nutrition, food science, and culinary arts skillset I have gained throughout the course of my undergrad.
