Why I chose my major

I chose to double major in Fashion Merchandising and Management Information Systems because I wanted to combine creativity with business and technology. I have always had a love for the fashion industry since I was little but soon learned I also love seeing how numbers and data is behind it. Fashion allows me to explore trends, consumer behavior and product development, while MIS gives me the technical and analytical skills to understand how businesses operate behind the scenes. This combination prepares me to be both creative and strategic in my future career.

What I like most about FACS

FACS as a college has become incredibly important to me throughout my time at UGA. From the classes I’ve taken in Dawson Hall, to learning about the FACS Body of Knowledge, to forming forever friendships, it has truly shaped my college experience. I’m especially grateful because my journey with FACS started before I even enrolled, when I toured UGA the summer before my senior year of high school. I had the opportunity to receive a personal tour from Dr. Clair McClure, who played a huge role in my decision to attend UGA and, more importantly, became part of the FACS community. Because of these experiences, FACS feels more than just a college to me, it feels like a place that has supported my growth both academically and personally.

Post-graduation plans

I will be spending the summer in Madrid as an AuPair before starting my full time job at Walmart headquarters in Bentonville, Arkansas, as an analyst in their merchandising development program in September.
